Audacity sound editor application, considered by many the best open source application for sound editing has now reached the 2.0 version.
This is the first stable version of the application to be released in the last six years.
The Audacity 2.0 version brings significant improvements to the sound editing applications available for Linux, Mac and Windows.
The new Audacity 2.0 version is based on 1.3.14 beta, according to the official Audacity website.
The new Audacity 2.0 version comes with improvements for many effects, from Equalization to Noise Removal to Normalize and Vocal Remover.
The sound editor also has a new “Device Toolbar” and a new Mixer Board.
The Automatic Crash Recovery option can protect the files you record or edit if the Audacity 2.0 application shutdown because of an error and Audacity 2.0 now comes with full support for the FLAC open source format.
